Anti-Bullying

Anti-Bullying

Bullying is not acceptable behaviour. All children have the right to feel safe, happy and secure at school. Bullying can, and does, occur from time to time. It is helpful for parents and children to recognise the different forms that bullying can take.

  • Physical - hitting, kicking, or taking belongings
  • Verbal - like name calling
  • Indirect - spreading nasty stories about someone or excluding someone from a social group.
  • Bullying can also be racist, homophobic or gender based.
  • Cyber-bullying-text message, face book or using social media sites.
  • If your child ever feels that s/he is being bullied, please encourage him/her to tell a teacher.
  • Children are encouraged to speak up against bullying in whatever form it takes. We will help him/her to feel safe and happy at school once again.

Here is our school's Anti-Bullying Policy.

Anti-Bullying Week

As part of Anti-Bullying Week we will be running a series of workshop to help our children develop an understanding of the different types of bullying including homophobic bullying, racism, cyber-bullying and what to do and where to go for help.
